The Tullahoma Lady Wildcats (0-2, 3-9) opened the second half of the 2009-2010 basketball season with a heartbreaking 37-34 loss to Marshall Co. on Tuesday, Jan. 5 in Lewisburg. The non-district loss was the Lady 'Cats' third in their last six games.
The Lady 'Cats return home and return to District 8-AAA action on Friday, Jan. 8 when district leader Lawrence Co. visits for a 6:30pm tipoff.
Tullahoma and Marshall Co. were tied at 34 apiece as the final seconds counted down in Lewisburg. The home team had the final possession though and nailed a three-point shot to escape with the victory.
The Lady 'Cats from Lawrence Co. lead District 8-AAA with a 2-0 league mark and a sparkling 14-2 overall record. Lawrence Co. is led by Julie Luffman, averaging 14.7 points per contest.
Senior Danae Thornburg leads the Tullahoma offense with a 13.8 points per game average. Thornburg torched Eagleville during a holiday tournament for 29 points, the largest scoring output for Tullahoma this season. |
