After winning three of their previous four contests for the first time in a number of years, the Tullahoma Lady Wildcats ended the first half of the 2009-2010 season with a disappointing 48-36 loss to Community on Tuesday, Dec. 29 at the Eagleville Classic Tournament in Eagleville.

The loss for Tullahoma (0-2, 3-8) came on the heels of an exciting 55-46 win over host Eagleville on Monday, Dec. 28, which followed the Lady 'Cats' 50-39 win over Coffee Co. on Dec. 15.

Tullahoma will return to regular season action with a trip to Lewisburg to take on Marshall Co. on Tuesday, Jan. 5, 2010. The Lady 'Cats return home and return to District 8-AAA action on Friday, Jan. 8 when district leader Lawrence Co. visits for a 6:30pm tipoff.

Tullahoma jumped out strong against Community, led by two three pointers from Olivia Barlow to take a 14-7 lead after one quarter. However, the Tullahoma offense could not match that output the rest of the game. The two teams were tied 23-23 at halftime, and by the end of the third quarter the Viqueens had taken a 36-31 lead and would never trail again.

Danae Thornburg led THS with 13 points and was the only scorer in double figures for the Lady 'Cats. Olivia Barlow hit two three pointers and had six points, while Natalie Rayfield and Kristina Tucker each had four, and Cam Davis, Mylesha Edwards, and Sara Beth Nelius added three points each.

Against Eagleville on Monday it was the Danae Thornburg show as the senior point guard dropped in a season-high 29 points to lead Tullahoma to the victory. The Lady 'Cats led 12-11 after one quarter, 24-19 at halftime, and 36-31 after three.

Tucker hit two three pointers and finished with 10 points, while Barlow and Edwards scored seven each and Nelius added two points.
